BATAVIA, OH — Clermont County Domestic Relations Court is pleased to announce the investiture of Judge Mary Lynne Birck. She was officially sworn in on Dec. 29, 2020 after being appointed by Gov. Mike DeWine. She succeeds Judge Kathleen Rodenberg.

Judge Timothy Hogan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio presided over the ceremony. Judge Birck worked for the Clermont County Prosecutor’s office for 26 years prior to her appointment.

Judge Birck thanked the magistrates, Visiting Judge Margaret Clark, Visiting Judge Jerry Catanzaro, Visiting Judge Thomas Lipps, and Interim Administrative Judge James Shriver who graciously performed work for the Domestic Relations Court during the transition in addition to their other duties.

“Continuing to serve the people of Clermont County is a privilege,” Judge Birck said. “Ensuring access to our Court is paramount. Accordingly, I am pleased to announce that, beginning Feb. 16, the Court will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. with no break at the noon hour. This was accomplished so quickly due to the cooperation of Clerk Barb Wiedenbein and her staff as well as the staff of the Domestic Relations Court. I can’t thank Barb, her staff, and the Court staff enough.”

The Domestic Relations Court also has adopted a new mission statement.

• To promote the care and support of children;
• To protect with dignity victims of domestic violence;
• To resolve property disputes justly;

Judge Birck intends for the Mission Statement to help the public understand both the work of the Court and the spirit of public service with which the Court strives to perform its work.
