Batchler elected president of Board of County Commissioners

BATAVIA, Ohio (Jan. 10, 2022) – Commissioner Bonnie Batchler was elected president, and Commissioner David Painter, vice president, of the Clermont County Board of Commissioners for 2022 at today’s annual Reorganization Meeting. Commissioner Claire Corcoran will serve as member.

The 2022 meeting schedule for Regular Sessions was also established. The commissioners are scheduled to meet every Wednesday of the year, except for certain holiday weeks, and the second and fourth Mondays of the first six months of the year. All meetings are at 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Commissioners are mandated to have at least 50 Regular Sessions during the calendar year.

Commissioner Batchler thanked Corcoran and Painter for helping her transition into the Board of Commissioners in 2021. She also praised county employees for their contributions and said she’s looking forward to 2022.

Painter described 2021 as a great year for Clermont County, with continuing economic development despite the pandemic, improved roads and other positives. Commissioner Corcoran reviewed 2021 as a year full of new business openings and thanked County Facilities for taking steps to keep employees and the public safe during the pandemic.

The Reorganization Meeting was followed by Regular Session at which the following 2022 appointments were made:

-Commissioner Batchler to the Records Commission;

-Commissioner Painter to the Board of Revisions, County Investment Advisory Committee, Area 12 Chief Elected Official (CEO) Consortium, Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments Executive Committee, Tax Incentive Review Council (TIRC), County Commissioners Association of Ohio voting representative; and

-Commissioner Corcoran to the Automatic Data Processing Board, alternative to the Area 12 Chief Elected Official (CEO) Consortium, alternative to Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments Executive Committee, alternative to County Commissioners Association of Ohio voting representative, Family and Children First Council.
